Scribner, "Literacy in Three Metaphors"  I keep using substituting the word "paradigm" for "metaphor" in my notes. Too much time working with physics paradigms in that class at Bradley, I guess, but these do seem to me more like paradigms than metaphors (in fact, I don't see how they're really metaphors at all).
